Immigration to Canada: Canadian Immigration Classes

 Like most other countries, Canadian immigration limits the number of slots for prospective immigrants. Canada usually has immigration openings each year for between 200,000 and 300,000 new immigrants, but there are many more than that which apply each year for acceptance.

There are numerous categories or immigration classes in which you can apply. Each has its merits, but only certain ones will uniquely fit your personal qualifications. The most common class for which prospective immigrants apply is the Federal Skilled Worker or Professional Class. It it this class that has the highest acceptance rate.

One of the best ways to enhance your chances is to apply in a category which:

* has a great demand, and
* for which you are definitely qualified

If you are temporarily in Canada already as a student, then your best choice would be the Canadian Experience Class.

If you already have family in Canada, then the Family Class might be your best route.

An entrepreneur or investor might go the Business Class route.

There is no one class that fits all. If you are interested in immigrating to Canada, and you do not have the $1,000 to $3,000 required to hire an immigration consultant (which may or may not actually improve your chances), then My Immigration Consultant is for you

The Pao is a wonderful little car designed produced in the late 1980s by the Pike factory for Nissan. More information on the Nissan Pao here. I'm sure you'll agree it's a bit of an enigma when it comes to Japanese car design... except it's not! The Figaro was the first in the line of a few similar 'quirky' designs which included the Be-1 and the S-Cargo (Escargot... get it?? Oh well...).

The R34 GTR is the fourth genaration nissan skyline hense the name R34 and is one of the most respected japanese sports car being one of the fastest and easisest to customise but nissan has revealed the R35 GTR (picture Right) to be realesed some time in the next few years

Made in Japan and highly popular both there and overseas.

Built and designed as a practical sportscar without the crippling maintainance bills usually associated with performance vehicles. It has a strong following in many countries.

A truly modern sportscar 

R33 Skyline Model

1993 saw the arrival of the R33 model of Skyline. This was heavier and sported more refinements including airbags (post 1996).
On the Spec 2 GTST and GTR 'smart ignition coils' were fitted. The chassis remained unchanged.

The GTR version of the R33 has the same RB26DETT engine however this has been improved with increased Torque and turbo-airflow management.
The turbos were ceramic or nylon and typically are less robust for mid-to-high levels of tuning.
Further upgrades for the R33 GTR were in 1995 when the AWD transmission system and RB26 engine were improved.
Production for this Skyline ran from 1993 to 1998.

The "La Caja China" is a box designed to barbecue a whole pig, yet it will cook any other type of meat as well.

The pig (or other meat) is placed inside the box, the lid is attached, and charcoal is placed on top of the lid to roast the meat inside. The grease flows into a catch pan. It's simple, but very effective.

Chinese Valentines Day ~ Let's Carve Melons Then!

Image by smiley_river! Who wouldn't want to marry the clever young woman who carved these melons? What about someone who offered you delicious fried cookies, or showed their expertise in embroidery? Domestic handicrafts were traditionally displayed during this festival, so the young women could attract a partner. In addition, altars were prepared, and offerings of pastries and fruit were prayed over, to make them an intelligent and resourceful partner!

Why carve melons? Well, it was traditionally a way to demonstrate the domestic skills of a young woman to any potential suitors! As well as melon carving, they would display samples of fried cookies, embroidery, quilting and other handicraft. More recently, this practice has waned because of the more modern attitude of couples towards shared domestic duties in China. Chinese Valentines Day is also known as "Qixi Festival" (the Night of Sevens), "Double Seventh Festival" or "Magpie Festival". It is not a gazetted public holiday in China, but is still popular amongst young people.
